First we went to Conciergerie, a building infamous for being a prison in the French Revolution. It was the last stop for 2,780 victims of the guillotine including Marie-Antoinette.
From there we went right next door to Sainte-Chapelle, a beautiful gothic cathedral known for its stained glass windows.
As I was stupidly taking this picture of my mom going down the steep stairwell I slipped. I fell but I got my arm caught between the rail and the wall so I didn't hurt myself too bad. I now have a sore arm a day later.
After the museums, we decided that we should take the metro to a train station to make train reservations because we had heard they fill up fast. We waited in line for over an hour and when we were finally able to talk to someone, she informed us that there were no more eurail train reservations to Amsterdam and that there were none from Amsterdam to London either. This was horrible news. She then sent us to a eurail representative. In those 15 minutes we were waiting to talk to the representative, we were freaking out. But once we talked to him, everything got cleared up. He found us open seats and that was great news. So we now have reservations all the way to London!!! We then took the metro back to the Notre Dame to stand in a horrendously long line so that we could walk 400 steps up to the top of the towers. Its definitely one of my favorites of the trip so far.
Here is my dinner for the night: a nutella crepe.
This is a picture of the HUGE bell in the top of the bell towers of the Notre Dame. Think Hunchback.
Since the line was so long and in general it took a while to climb to the tower, we had to hustle to make it to our 9:30pm Eiffel Tower reservation. It was freezing at the 2nd floor of the tower but we had a beautiful sunset and got to watch the tower light up.
